Trying push notifications
The push trial lets you send a test notification to your own device from Push notifications. The trial is available once enabled for doHockey. Administrators can also receive automatic administration notifications.
On iPhone or iPad
Use iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- Open doHockey in Safari.
- Choose Share and Add to Home Screen.
- Open doHockey through the new icon and sign in.
- Open Try push notifications from your profile, or go directly to
/pushin the portal. - Choose Allow notifications and grant permission.
- Choose Send test notification. You can then put the app in the background.
Tap the notification to return to the push page. Disable on this device stops the trial on that device.
No notification received?
Delivery may take a little time. Check your internet connection, doHockey notification settings and Focus settings. If you previously denied permission, change it in device settings. Open doHockey from the home screen. If the trial is not available yet, you cannot send a test at that time.
The home-screen requirement follows Apple’s Web Push explanation.
Registering your device
Allowing notifications or sending a test links your device to your account. If you already allowed notifications, choose Register device. Administrators can see the reported operating system and browser associated with registration. Signing out makes the registration inactive. Disable on this device removes it. Administrators also receive the notifications described below.
Automatic notifications for administrators
As an administrator, on your registered devices with push allowed you receive:
- A reminder every day at 09:30 Netherlands time when emails await sending. An empty queue produces no notification.
- A notification after successful registration, about the new user or the new club and user together.
Tap to open the relevant administration overview. The notification contains no new registrant’s name or email address. Ordinary users and club managers do not receive these administration notifications.
