Guides and practical help for coaches, teams, players and trainers.
Managing doHockey exercises
When the new exercise library is available, Administration includes the doHockey exercises menu. This is a management view of the same library trainers use. Platform administrators have direct access. Appointed editors and reviewers can perform their delegated tasks here.
Maintaining official exercises
New exercise and the pencil icon open the same editor. Use Details for Dutch and English instructions, practical information, characteristics and sources. Use Field & animation for the setup, equipment and movement. You can switch tabs while keeping your changes in the editor. Save stores both tabs together as one draft revision.
Original designs identify background references as supporting principles. An adaptation retains the original exercise link and creator. Record permission or reuse rights; attribution alone is not permission to reuse material.
The eye icon opens the exercise viewer. Playback sits alongside the learning goal and practical details. Instructions, coaching, formations and sources appear below.
Characteristics and discovery
Search the management overview by title or objective in the selected language. Combine the search with hockey variant, Session part, Game phase, Skill and Formation. Each exercise shows its assigned categories in the list and details. The summary above it continues to show the overall totals.
Under Exercise characteristics, choose session part, game phase and skills from a fixed list. The same choices maintain the Dutch and English presentation. Exercises may have several characteristics. Formations follow the completed position-role applications and are not entered as separate tags.
In the public library, open filter choices with Session part, Game phase, Skill and Formation. You can combine these filters. Multiple choices within one group are combined; choices from different groups narrow the results further. Counts follow your choices. Clear filters restores the overview. Selected filters appear as tags you can remove individually. Choices without matches are dimmed.
Sharing and publication
Complete automatically generated doHockey exercises become available immediately in the library and on the public site. Manually created exercises start as drafts; user contributions follow the review process. An automatically published exercise can still be withdrawn later.
Use the people icon on an official exercise row to make it available to trainers. Check the languages, instructions, rules, sources and reuse permissions. Complete any missing information and save the exercise. If formation links have yet to be reviewed, the confirmation explains which links are left out of the available version.
Use the globe to also show the available version in the public library. Turning off the people icon removes the exercise from trainers and the public library. After saving edits, use the refresh icon to make the latest version available. Select that version again with the globe to show it in the public library.
Personal and club exercise owners choose visibility directly. Public contributions display the creator and require confirmation of sharing rights. Reviewers can still select releases for the public website.
The row icons open the view (eye), editing fields (pencil), deletion (bin) or sharing where available. Deletion asks for confirmation and removes the exercise from the library, including active public placement. Previously permitted training versions remain available.
Permissions and club work
Manage personal drafts, your submissions and outgoing transfer offers in My exercises. Manage club drafts and receive transfers in Club library. Public reviews and Site selection belong under Administration → doHockey exercises.
Platform administrators manage official exercises by default. Personal and club drafts follow their own access rules. Use User management → Exercise management permissions to delegate editing or review.
Club work belongs in Club library. Distinguish personal custody shared with a club from actual club custody. Transfer requires an offer from the author and acceptance by the club; ordinary sharing does not transfer control.
This extension is being made available through a controlled transition. Existing exercises are not automatically adopted, approved or made public.
Animations with carrying and finishing
An exercise can also show carrying the ball and a low finish at a practice goal. The animation illustrates one possible choice. Adapt space, tempo and opposition to your players; sources attached to original doHockey designs support the principles and are not an original version of the drill.
Practice research
The research page explains which public international sources we compare and which design criteria we use. Research examples are not newly approved library exercises. Publicly accessible sources are not automatically free to reuse; the page records the reviewed rights status.
Variations within a practice
Compare the learning objective and rules before counting practices separately. Easier and harder versions belong within the same practice. Retain the selected version and source credits in training; replace an existing selection deliberately.
A dedicated public exercise page
An exercise selected for the public site has its own page. Choose Open exercise page in the library. NL and EN open the corresponding language version. The address stays the same after a new publication. Instructions, coaching and sources remain readable without animation. Drafts and withdrawn exercises do not have an available public page.
The In development badge beside the title indicates that instructions, coaching and animation are still being refined. This is separate from the selected version’s public availability.
Consolidation and older versions
Similar practices can be combined into one core practice with variations. Existing training retains its selected version and sources. Unused older publications may be cleaned up; versions still needed for use or an approval review remain available to those records.
Exercise feedback
Open Exercise feedback in Administration → doHockey exercises. Appointed editors and reviewers see Useful and Needs improvement totals, optional improvement reasons and counts by language for each published version. Names and browser codes are not displayed. Feedback on withdrawn versions remains recognizable so improvements in a later version can be tracked. A vote does not approve an exercise automatically or change its publication status.
