In developmentEscape a shadow
Create separation with a change of pace without contacting an opponent.
2 players · 6 min · 18 × 10 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Finishes use unoccupied practice goals with clear run-off.
Organisation
Two players in a narrow lane. A1 has the ball; B1 follows two stick lengths behind. Left and right exits are at the far end.
Execution
B1 shadows without tackling. A1 slows once and chooses an exit; a controlled crossing before B1 closes within one stick length earns a point. Walk back outside; swap every attempt.
Coaching
- Accelerate when the follower has to adjust.
- Use body position without cutting across the other player.
- When did separation appear?
Easier
Release B1 after the first change of direction.
Harder
Start B1 simultaneously from farther away; tackling remains excluded.
What to observe
Count controlled crossings and identify the acceleration that created separation.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
