In developmentEnter wide and cut back low
Connect a low cutback to a finisher with an available stick.
5 players · 9 min · 16 × 22 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Use grounded passes and low pushes; do not force a closed block or board route.
Organisation
Three attackers against two defenders. One empty mini-goal and a two-metre entry strip near the goal end. A3 starts as deeper support.
Execution
A must enter through a wide reception in the entry strip, then cut back low to another attacker for a low push finish. No direct finish from the strip. B counters to the start gate on a regain. Restart after out-of-bounds/goal; rotate attacking roles each attempt and teams after four.
Coaching
- Receiver shows the stick before the pass.
- Finisher stays behind the ball line.
- Push only when goal and run-off are clear.
Easier
One defender only shadows the entry pass.
Harder
Let B defend the strip freely; recycling to A3 remains available.
What to observe
Count controlled low cutbacks to an available stick before counting goals.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Use a safe indoor floor and suitable boards. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
