Indoor hockey

In development

Judge a board angle with a partner

Match a grounded board-pass angle to a moving receiver.

2 players · 6 min · 14 × 12 m

The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Use grounded passes and low pushes; do not force a closed block or board route.

Organisation

Two players beside the same sideboard with a clear board route. Two receiving markers are at different depths. Nobody stands between ball and board.

Execution

A2 chooses a receiving marker and stops before A1 pushes. A1 passes off the board to A2’s stick. Score if A2 receives within one step. A2 returns directly and chooses the other depth. Swap feeder and receiver after five balls.

Coaching

  • Check both the board contact and receiver.
  • Weight the pass for a controllable rebound.
  • Stop if another player crosses the route.

Easier

Use one fixed receiver position and shorten the distance.

Harder

A2 chooses the depth just before the pass but stops before release.

What to observe

Record five board passes: within one step, extra steps or missed.

Equipment

Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Use a safe indoor floor and suitable boards. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
