Choose when to turn possession into territorial progress.
7 players · 10 min · 28 × 18 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Finishes use unoccupied practice goals with clear run-off.
Organisation
Seven players: 3v3 plus N1 for the team in possession. Two playing boxes with a connecting strip; only N1 may receive in the strip.
Execution
Start 3v3 in the left box. After two passes N1 may offer in the strip. Reach a receiver in the right box via N1 for one point. Everyone follows, while N1 remains the connector. On interception the other team builds towards the empty box. Rotate the neutral every two minutes.
Coaching
- Create space around the ball first.
- The receiver moves when N1 can face forward.
- Could N1 also return the ball safely?
Easier
Allow only two defenders to press actively.
Harder
Limit N1 to two touches if reception remains controlled.
What to observe
Count crossings with controlled reception; a long ball without a receiver does not count.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
