Indoor hockey
In developmentFirst touch out of the passing lane
Cushion a firm grounded pass and continue outside its incoming line.
3 players · 6 min · 12 × 10 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Use grounded passes and low pushes; do not force a closed block or board route.
Organisation
Three cooperating players in a triangle, two small reception boxes around A2. No defender. A1 feeds, A2 receives, A3 is the next option.
Execution
A1 chooses a pass towards either box. A2 moves there, receives outside the incoming line and passes to A3. A3 carries slowly to the start; everyone rotates one role. Score a point for reception and onward pass without a recovery stop.
Coaching
- Soften the stick at contact.
- Set the feet towards the new direction before the ball arrives.
- Keep the ball on the floor even with a firm pass.
Easier
Choose one box in advance and soften the feed.
Harder
Have A3 create a new angle late so A2 must scan twice.
What to observe
Count five receptions without a bounce or stationary correction.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Use a safe indoor floor and suitable boards. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
