In developmentAfter a regain: go or keep
Play forward when available and retain possession when the counter is closed.
7 players · 10 min · 30 × 22 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Finishes use unoccupied practice goals with clear run-off.
Organisation
Three against three with N1 supporting possession. Two end gates; a safe side strip belongs only to N1.
Execution
After a regain the new team may score in its attacking direction within five seconds for two points. Later scores earn one. Recycling through N1 retains possession but ends the counter bonus. Restart every out-of-bounds at N1. Rotate N1 every two minutes.
Coaching
- On a regain check available depth first.
- Support behind the ball is still needed in a counter.
- Abandoning a counter can be a sound decision.
Easier
Allow seven seconds and a wider safe strip.
Harder
N1 may receive only one recycle per possession.
What to observe
Record open counters taken and closed counters safely abandoned.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
