In developmentBounce to the third player
Reach a screened receiver through a third player.
5 players · 9 min · 22 × 16 m
The animation shows one played situation with a decision and response, not a required pattern. Regains and restarts are marked schematically; stop unsafe pressure. Finishes use unoccupied practice goals with clear run-off.
Organisation
A1 and A2 start behind a line, A3 beyond it. B1 screens the direct lane to A3; B2 defends behind. Two end gates are the targets.
Execution
A3 may bounce but cannot carry away. After a bounce one supporter may cross the line. A pass to that runner followed by a controlled end-gate crossing scores. After a regain B may carry over the start line. Restart at A1 on out-of-bounds; rotate target and defensive roles after four attacks.
Coaching
- Draw a defender towards the direct lane first.
- The third player starts when the bounce becomes available.
- Which pass changed B1’s viewing direction?
Easier
B2 guards only one end gate.
Harder
B1 and B2 may exchange depth; A chooses the bounce player.
What to observe
Count attacks in which a third player receives beyond the line facing forward.
Equipment
Sticks, one active ball, spare balls outside the area and cones; mini-goals where drawn. Dimensions and duration are adaptable starting proposals.
